Toys and Trains at the Cambria Depot

Cambria Toy Station

Just down the street from The Oaks Victorian Inn in the historic Cambria Train Depot is a great shop for kids of all ages. This past Saturday we visited the Cambria Toy Station to check out all the cool stuff they have. Bernie headed straight for the tree of puppets. I love the two handed puppet of Mozart and his piano. There’s a frog and his spaceship, an Emperor penguin, a great turtle that can pull his head into his shell and a snowy owl just like Hedwig, just to name a few. Bernie loves dolphins and there was one of those too.

There are coloring books for kids and grown-ups. Megan, one of the owners, told us that the grown-up coloring books just fly off the shelf. She promised to call us when her next shipment arrives. If you’re into building stuff, check out the Keva Planks and Wanted Bricks. I love puzzles and there are plenty of them from which to choose no matter what the age of the puzzle enthusiast. Is there a budding artist in the family? Buy some sidewalk chalk and create drawings just like Burt did in Mary Poppins. A garden hose or a good rain will give you a brand new canvas for your next masterpiece.

There are dinosaur books and toys, wooden toys, dragons, sock monkey kits, old time toys, kits for craft projects and more. Rediscover your inner child and have a wonderful time at the depot. If you time it right you may even be there as a train rumbles by.
